Well planting 2022 |
This years well planting with the Hozempa family.
The outer rings of "spillers" are courtesy of AAS and include this years winners Petunia Bees Knees and Verbena Beats Purple + White. The center of the planter is seeded with an assortment of sunflowers in support of Ukraine. The "filler" is bushy dill from a family run seed business in Irpin, Ukraine that specializes in Ukrainian Heirlooms. They had to shut down in February so the families that run it could leave for safety. They have just come back and have reopened for business. If anyone would like to help out some of the local families in Irpin with food security this coming year, you can order a special package of seeds they have put together. The Hamlet of Gray History now has its own independent website
You can access it through our "History" tab.
This is an ongoing project. In fact, some notes asking for more 'info/ dates /names /whatever' are included. The site can be edited or added to at will. We look forward to any contributions you would like to submit - use the Contact Us option please.
Thanks to everyone (old and young - but mostly old) that helped gather the information that has been included. 'the ties that bind' was a major source as well as photos and notes kept by those before us.
Thanks to Laurie Hozempa for her diligent researching help and to Lori Boesch for getting it on-line.
Something new to read during these COVID times.
